About my process: After working on sculpture, painting and drawing separately for many years, I have recently developed a new technique allowing me to merge these mediums together in a two-dimensional space. This unique process was created out of a long time desire to breathe life and colour into my sculpture work. The resulting paintings seem to trick the eye while creating the illusion of a 3rd dimension.
Short breakdown of my process:
Creating miniature clay sculptures of faces, heads and hands;
Photographing the sculptures and printing the images on watercolour paper;
Creating a collage of the images on large watercolour paper;
Using gestural pencil line work to unite the individual elements;
Using watercolour paint to add colour and texture to the images.
